Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information Living Trail Post may receive when you visit the website, follow a link, request a newsletter subscription, or contact the editorial team.

Effective date: September 21, 2026

1. Who is responsible for the information

For purposes of privacy laws that apply to a particular interaction, Living Trail Post is the brand responsible for deciding why and how personal information described in this policy is processed. Privacy questions and rights requests can be sent to privacy@livingtrailpost.com.

2. Scope and applicable privacy rules

This policy applies to the Living Trail Post website and messages sent directly to the brand through the email addresses shown on the site. It does not control third-party websites, email providers, hosting providers, or other services that publish their own privacy notices.

This policy is designed to address common transparency requirements and, where their territorial and material scope applies, rights under the European Union General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Brazil's Lei Geral de Proteção de Dados (LGPD). The exact law that applies depends on the visitor, the processing, and the services in use. Official references are available from the European Data Protection Board and Brazil's National Data Protection Authority.

3. Information we may receive

Information you choose to provide

When you email Living Trail Post, the message may include your email address, name, message content, attachments, article URL, newsletter preference, and any other information you decide to send. Please provide only what is necessary and do not send passwords, government identifiers, payment-card details, medical records, or other sensitive documents.

Technical and usage information

Services that host, secure, or deliver the website may process technical information such as an IP address, device and browser type, operating system, requested page, referring page, date and time, approximate region, and security events. Server logs are commonly needed to deliver pages, diagnose failures, prevent abuse, and protect the service.

Information from external links

If you follow a link to a public agency, university, manufacturer, social platform, or another website, that service may receive information under its own terms and privacy notice. Living Trail Post does not receive control over information you provide directly to an external site.

4. Cookies and similar technologies

The current static website does not include a Living Trail Post advertising tracker or a brand-operated analytics script. Hosting, security, browser, or email services may still use essential storage, logs, or similar technologies to provide their functions. If analytics, advertising, embedded media, or a managed newsletter platform is added, this policy should be updated to identify the service and the choices available.

5. How information may be used

Living Trail Post may use information to:

  • deliver and secure the website;
  • respond to questions, correction reports, privacy requests, and partnership inquiries;
  • process a requested newsletter subscription or unsubscribe request;
  • investigate technical problems, misuse, spam, or security incidents;
  • improve navigation, article clarity, accessibility, and performance;
  • maintain records needed to document corrections, permissions, or rights requests; and
  • comply with applicable obligations or protect the rights and safety of readers, the brand, and others.

Information is not used for a materially different purpose without an appropriate notice or other basis where required.

6. Basis for processing

Depending on the context and applicable law, information may be processed because you requested a response or subscription, because the processing is reasonably necessary to operate and secure the site, because Living Trail Post must meet an applicable obligation, or because you provided consent. Where consent is the basis, it may be withdrawn for future processing.

7. When information may be shared

Living Trail Post does not sell personal information. Limited information may be disclosed in these circumstances:

  • Service providersHosting, email, security, storage, and technical providers may process information to perform services for the site.
  • Legal and safety reasonsInformation may be disclosed when reasonably necessary to comply with lawful process, investigate misuse, enforce terms, or protect rights and safety.
  • Operational changesIf responsibility for the brand or website changes, relevant records may transfer subject to appropriate privacy protections.
  • With your directionInformation may be shared when you ask or clearly authorize Living Trail Post to do so.

8. Retention

Information is kept only for as long as reasonably needed for the purpose for which it was received. A general inquiry may be deleted after it is resolved; a correction record may be kept longer to document an editorial decision; a security log may be retained according to the hosting or security provider's schedule; and a newsletter preference may be retained until you unsubscribe or the service ends.

Retention can also be affected by backup cycles, dispute resolution, fraud prevention, permissions, and applicable legal requirements. When information is no longer needed, it may be deleted, anonymized, or allowed to expire from active systems.

9. Security

Reasonable administrative and technical measures are used to reduce risks such as unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration. No email system, website, storage service, or internet transmission can be guaranteed completely secure. You are responsible for choosing what to send and for using a device and email account you trust.

10. Your choices and requests

Depending on where you live and the nature of the information, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability, or withdrawal of consent. You may also opt out of optional email communications.

Send a request to privacy@livingtrailpost.com using the email address connected with the relevant interaction. To protect information, Living Trail Post may request reasonable verification. Some information may be retained when necessary for security, legal compliance, recordkeeping, or the establishment or defense of claims.

11. Personalized advertising choices

The current static version of Living Trail Post does not run a brand-operated advertising script. If Google advertising or another personalized advertising service is introduced, this policy and any consent controls should be updated before that processing begins where required.

Google provides controls for its own advertising services. Visitors can review or turn off personalized ads through Google My Ad Center and read how Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services. These controls apply to Google services and participating partners; they do not control unrelated advertising providers.

12. Children's privacy

Living Trail Post is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly seek personal information from children. A parent or guardian who believes a child sent personal information may contact the privacy address below.

13. International use

The website can be visited from different locations. Information may be processed in places where service providers operate, and privacy rules may differ. Where applicable, required safeguards should be used for transfers of personal information.

14. External websites

Articles link to external resources for supporting information. Those websites control their own content, cookies, security, and privacy practices. Review the external site's notice before providing information.

15. Changes to this policy

This policy may change when site features, service providers, or applicable requirements change. The effective date at the top identifies the current version. Material changes should be presented on this page before or when they take effect.

16. Contact

Questions and privacy requests may be sent to privacy@livingtrailpost.com. For ordinary editorial questions, use the options on the Contact Us page.
